Members of the Scarsdale Police Department were dispatched to the intersection of Hutchinson Avenue and Meadow Road shortly after 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 13, where there was a report of a pedestrian who had been struck.
Police said that upon arrival, officers found a 21-year-old man laying on the side of the road using an unknown vehicle's headrest to prop his head up while he was down.
According to police, the jogger said he was out jogging when a blue Lexus struck him with the right front side of the vehicle.
The driver then failed to stop and continued traveling onto the northbound Hutchinson River Parkway. The jogger said the driver was a woman with a man in the front seat. At the time of the incident, it was snowing and the roadway was wet, investigators noted.
The jogger was unable to move his right leg and had to be treated at the scene by paramedics before being transported to a local hospital for evaluation. The hit-and-run is under investigation.
